Author John A. Greenwald shares the story of how the discovery of letters hidden in the walls of La Mirada revealed the end of a passionate love affair between its former owner Ruth Morris and British author Alec Waugh (Evelyn’s brother) and inspired Greenwald to begin uncovering many more surprising details about this fascinating woman. That she flew planes, raced cars, worked in Hollywood, fought a bull, and was involved in a great scandal. Perfect material for an engrossing book.
A California native, John A. Greenwald is a graduate of UC Berkeley and a former copywriter for several major advertising agencies. He later became a teacher and began helping high school students learn how to write. He lives with his wife, Carol, in Monterey.
