Some kids spend the summer playing video games. Monterey resident and Stevenson School junior Shaan Patel spent his summer working on a project to give back to his community. Shaan built four Little Free Libraries with Scout Troop #43. His dad Samir supervised the use of power tools.The project satisfied the requirement for Shaan to become an Eagle Scout. The Friends of the Monterey Public Library paid for the building supplies. One little library was installed at MyMuseum. The others were installed at Spray Avenue Tot Lot, Casanova Oak Knoll Park Center, and Laguna Grande Park.
